Mikleo info @ Aselia Wiki & Tales of Zestiria Summary, in which pretty much summarizes the key points in the game. Mikleo was part of the game from the beginning to the end, thus he's experienced most of the events summarized in the wiki.Personality:
Mikleo was born as the nephew of the previous Shepherd, Michael. His younger sister Muse was Mikleo's mother who died through the course of the game, however there were no mentions of his dad. Before Heldalf became the Lord of Calamity, he was an aspiring general of the Rolance Empire, seeking out to use the village of Camlann as a base for his military actions. The people of the village did not wish for him to do so, seeing that they would be tied in the middle of the war between Rolance and their opposing country, Hyland. Due to these decisions made by Heldalf, the Origin Village, Camlann was destroyed. The former Shepherd, Michael, enraged, sacrificed, his sister's child to turn Heldalf into a Hellion and to curse him with a life of solitude and sorrow. Thus, Heldalf was reborn as the Lord of Calamity, and Muse's child, who is later known as Mikleo was sacrificed to put that plan into motion. Mikleo was then reborn as a Seraph.
Mikleo's adopted grandfather, Zenrus sensed the increasingly strong amount of Malevolence, and sought out the village in order to check up on it. When he came there, he saved a baby that had had survived the massacre and before Muse became a seal for Maotelus, and Camalann, she entrusted her son to Zenrus. Muse, then used the power of the oath to seal off the village with Maotelus still trapped inside. Mikleo soon learned that all the records connected back to both of them and Zenrus, raised Sorey to be the next Shepherd, alongside Mikleo, who then became a Sub Lord. The two of them would leave Elysia and attempt to save and quench the world of malevolence in the future events of the game . Mikleo did not leave Elysia to become the Sub Lord to the Shepherd and Sorey did not leave as the Shepherd. He went with Sorey, because he was worried and wanted to explore the world outside. He couldn't leave his friend on his own.
With that being said, Mikleo grew up in the village of Elysia, alongside another refugee from the Origin Village, Camlann. His name is Sorey, and the two of them are the best of friends. The game starts off with Mikleo and Sorey exploring the ruins near Elysia, their home village. They were trying to find something knowledgeable and interesting for their archaeological interest through the Celestial Record, a book of legends depicting stories of ancient ruins and tales of the Shepherd who quelled the world of malevolence along with various discoveries and artifacts. He wanted to one day explore the outside world
While trying to find evidence of Shepherds and other historical exisetences, the two of them were caught in a thunder storm created by Zenrus. That was enough to cause the ruins to crumble above their feet, and Mikleo alongside Sorey fell to the underground ruins below. There they first find and unconscious girl and the two attempted to save her despite the fact that they were breaking the rules of having direct contact with outsiders. Mikleo begrudgingly agreed to Sorey's request on taking the girl back with them to their village, Elysia. There Sorey was in charge of keeping the girl entertained while Mikleo was to report to Zenrus about the current situation at hand. Zenrus was enraged by the fact that Sorey and Mikleo thought about bringing a human to their village, but in the end allowed her to stay.
The Seraphim, like Mikleo were not able to be seen by humans, unless they had strong resonance, thus Alisha assumed that the village was empty and that Sorey was always talking to himself. Upon watching Alsiha leave, something happened that same day. A man by the name of Lunarre, who was corrupted by malevolence was chasing after Alisha, so he could kill her. Sorey figured out that Lunarre was going after Alisha, so he decided to leave the village to save her and protect her. Mikleo forces Sorey to take him along, saying that he was unable to do things on his own. It was better that they both went together, thus opening their eyes to the world beyond Elysia. Upon their search for Alisha, Mikleo was able to see the real outside of the Blessing given by his grandfather. The world outside of Elysia was corrupted by Malevolence and everywhere they walked, people were torn inside with all kinds of negative emotions.
Mikleo often comes off as a very calm and collected individual, who is rich with a lot of knowledge meaning he's quite book smart. At a young age, he always found himself hungry for knowledge, studying history, and reading the Celestial Record. The Celestial Record is a book telling the stories of the Shepherd and how he quelled the Malevolence, and then disappearing when he task is done. Mikleo likes to think about things rationally and carefully before executing due to any wrong move can cause a lot repercussions. He is always seen reprimanding Sorey, when he tries to make irrational decisions and steering him towards the more logical way to handle certain situations. Mikleo is often seen as the more polite member of the party. He's always addressing others formally, and his manner of speaking is also very subtle. Even though he can be polite in his manner of speech, he can also be quite lax on the inappropriate language that he uses. He's very pure and innocent compared to his Seraphim companions. Even though he does understand some of the more adult like conversations that his older party members have, he often questions if that's truly how adults behave.
He also liked to remind Sorey that he shouldn't bear burdens on his own. Rather, Mikleo would like to be able to share the burdens that Sorey had in which leads to how stubborn Mikleo can be. When Sorey refused to let him become the Sub Lord, when he became the Shepherd, Mikleo argued that it was their dream to explore ruins all around the world and he was doing out of his own free will. He was an individual and he pressed that he could make his own decisions. When he makes up his mind, it's difficult to steer him any other way. He resulted in exchanging letters with Lailah to get what he wanted and ignoring Sorey, when he greeted by him for saving the party. After that exchange he demanded that Lailah make him the Sub Lord and he wasn't having any of Sorey's arguments. This is a large example of how stubborn he can be towards his goals and towards someone he cares deeply for. He is sensitive of others, and often apologizes to his party members if he speaks out of line. This happens quite often when he's speaking with Edna who constantly would speak to him sarcastically. While he has strong convictions towards Sorey, he cares about his allies all the same. He doesn't want any of them to feel like they have to bear their own sorrows on their own and is always quick to remind others that they cans share their woes with one another. No one is truly alone.
Mikleo has a strong sense of responsibility and it's very well defined in how he behaves around Sorey. It makes Mikleo appear as though he's a very stiff and serious person. However, that isn't always the case. He very easily moved by the studies ancient history and language as well as sometimes he comes off as an archaeological explorer. When he finds ruins with Sorey, they go on and on about the possible theories of why the ruins are here and what time period they come from. Mikleo is very passionate abut exploring the world and learning as much as he can. After all, growing up in an isolated village made it hard for him to assimilate to daily life. In that perspective he is very ignorant of the world around him and like Sorey, he is learning and growing after every discovery he's made. He can sometimes be distracted by rare and unknown theories and artifacts. Mikleo is terrified of dogs, because they can always feel or sense something that a human cannot and it makes him very uneasy. He often stresses out when there is a dog near him. He often gets teased for it and his responses are usually loud outbursts that seem extremely out of his usual character. He's also very good at making cold sweets. He stated that it was the only thing he had access to making because Sorey would never eat properly. He can also be be easily rustled by his team members, such as Edna, who often finds it amusing to jab him with her umbrella and mock him for his stiff and serious attitude. As a result, Mikleo is often shouting at her in response or getting frustrated with her antics to no end. Sometimes, he will go as far as exchanging sarcasm with Edna and making comments in return to her brashness.
The Water Seraph doesn't enjoy being a burden to anyone, and that shows very much through the first part of the game, when Sorey keeps shielding him and pushing him behind when he first decided to be the Shepherd. It made Mikleo uneasy, watching his lifelong friend carry the burden and responsibilities on his own when the both of them left their home together to see the world together. He doesn't want to simply be dead weight He wanted to be able to share the same burdens because he chose to go out on his own will with Sorey. Mikleo can also seem arrogant at times only because he likes to prove to others that he is usually right. That leads to his more playful personality, in which he displays when given the right scenario such as when Sorey and him discovered the Shepherd's Glove, and Mikleo confiscated the artifact from him, only to dangle it in front of Sorey when they left Elysia. Mikleo is also curious about others, and often asking questions about his party members such as their motives or reasons why they are going on this journey. He enjoys asking Lailah historical questions due to her being quite old, she often gives him the answers he's looking for. He likes to subtly brag about himself from time to time, such as some battle victories he says, "I was the star of the show."
He's prone to be set off a lot when there's anything that concerns Sorey. Even the mention of his name is enough to make Mikleo lose his composure. Being that voice of reason for Sorey, he's quite protective of his best friend, and he will often get very riled up when there is anything that concerns Sorey. There are a few skits in the game in which display that part of his personality, however, Mikleo believes that Sorey will be okay in the end, but he can't help but worry. On top of being calm and collected, he's often quite blunt and honest. Sometimes he will say things that will seem a bit harsh, or too much in which he comes to realize and stop before apologizing for them. When he truly believes in someone, he will speak his honest words in hopes that they will understand where he is coming from. Such as when Rose was being ushered to travel with Sorey more. Mikleo calmly, and honestly explained to Rose that having her around Sorey, would help his burden as a Shepherd greatly. In which he was able to persuade Rose to finally take the reins and becoming Sorey's Squire.
While he may seem to be quite mature, Mikleo is the youngest of the all the Seraphim, so he is insecure about his own abilities and powers. There are several skits throughout the game showing his concerns when he trains himself away from others and often times he does it in secret until he gets caught. Mikleo is someone who will push himself to the beyond his own limits in order to be stronger and protect those around him. He's also easy to push around and his party members enjoy using him as their personal punching bag in which he takes most of the time until he is riled enough to return their antics. He has strong respect for his adoptive grandfather, Zenrus and it is shown through how he always seem to be rationally talking to the older Seraph and the sorrow he felt when Zenrus was killed. Zenrus is like a parent to Mikleo, and he works hard so that Zenrus can be proud of him. Mikleo doesn't know much about his mother, but he loves her dearly, and it's very noticeable when he ends up seeing her in person for the first time in his life. Instead of stopping his mother from sacrificing herself, he lets her do so, and respects her decision to uphold her oath with her life.

Additionally if the above link is not enough:
Something was missing from him-- pieces, fragments, and various other things. He couldn't put anything together and he couldn't remember the faces or the people. Everything was a blob, a silhouette. Thinking upon it now, the Water Seraph really did want to remember the things he couldn't. Not that having amnesia stopped him from doing the usual things. It seemed like he was able to make treats, fight, and even gather and understand extensive knowledge in a short amount of time.
However, faces and names-- they escaped him. He couldn't remember anything at all. All he remember was seeing a bright light and something being fired. That was it. He woke up here, dead to say the least. He was a wandering soul, given the ability to be a "Shinki," -- a weapon of Gods. It was very fascinating for him since then. He had slowly and gradually searched for answers through whatever books were available. Even then, the knowledge was slim to none. He asked other Shinkis about these things as well and they all told him almost the same exact thing.
Being a Seraphim in the past didn't change much here. He wasn't human-- whether he seemed to appear that way or not. People could see Mikleo. They could talk to him and engage in a decent conversation with him. It was all very new to him-- strange. Yet, he found it all very enriching and knowledgeable. He learned a lot about human interactions and how to possibly be as close to a human being as he could. After all his life had always been that of a Seraph. Seraphim lived and aged differently from humans.
Today was a breezy day, he was gathering a handful of herbs in his hands as he inspects them. Outside of using Seraphic Artes to heal, he learned that herbs can also treat small wounds. Initially spirits would not need this kind of thing but this land-- this world itself had some very unique traits.
"I am curious to what we will discuss today," he mused mostly to himself as he puts the herbs into a small plastic zip lock like bag. Given what he learned, he was quite fortunate to fall into the hands of a very kind God. One of which he found friendship in, quickly once he learned to trust them. In a world without memories, it's not abnormal to distrust others. It's also hard when you know nothing beyond the basic knowledge of survival, fighting skills, and any other natural abilities that you came with. Today was a good day.

Anything Else?: Requesting Mikleo's God to be Sorey since we will be applying together if that's possible and okay! :D
